Bloodhound Update
1/11/10
Good evening!
I know that those of you up north are going to laugh, but it was so cold
the few days here! I think the dogs actually enjoyed it as everyone was
good and frisky. We had heaters and heat lamps galore... The adults
had ice in their 5 gallon buckets and had a blast when we pulled it out in
a full bucket shaped ring. Some lasted for 2-3 days and some for 5
minutes - until they decided to demolish it or eat it down. Even puppies
had fun playing on ice.... Folks made the brave trip to pick up their
babies this very cold weekend. We have more going this next weekend
as well. Everyone is so excited to take their new babies home.
We have a surprise litter that we are adding to our site tonight. These
puppies are now 10 weeks old and are ready to go now. We did not
breed this litter, but did meet the breeder and the father of the pups.
They are of excellent quality and absolutely beautiful. More info below...
They remind me so much of our Dixie/Duke pups from a year ago.
Tip #18 - Bloodhounds skin can be sensitive (some not as much as
others). Brushing daily and wiping down once a week with a damp cloth
will not only help keep your hound cleaner by removing dirt, parasites,
etc… which can get trapped in the folds of the skin and may cause odor,
it will also help keep your bloodhound from getting itchy. Also, brushing
once a day will help keep fur shinier.
Fun Fact #4 - The first recorded use of Bloodhounds by organized law
enforcement was in England in 1805 when the Thrapthon Association
for the Prevention of Felons acquired a Bloodhound to search for
poachers and thieves.
Current Litters:
Lilly & Duke puppies are now 7 weeks old. Some of our girls started
going to new homes this past weekend. Puppies are now ready to go to
their new homes. We have 2 females available.

Ella Mae & Red puppies are now 4 weeks old. She has some very pretty
colored pups - some darker and lighter red. They already have such cute
personalities. We have 1 male and 2 females available for reservation.

Ellie May Holland & Boudreaux puppies are 10 weeks old. We just
went and picked them up this morning. This was a surprise addition to
our group. We got to mee to Boudreaux, who is a beautiful boy. He
weighs about 125 pounds and just as sweet as could be. These puppies
have the sweetest disposition and were so good on their 6 hour trip back
to our house. They have all been vet checked, 1st set of shots,
dewormed and are AKC registered. We have 2 females and 3 males
available to go now.
